    Question about UK accents

Tony Robinson, who plays Baldrick on Blackadder, uses a very distinctive accent in the role. I was wondering, what region is that accent from?

    Baldric

In the first series it's his own accent, which sounds either London or home counties to me.
In later series it's a thicker, more stupid version of the same accent.

Mummerset - the term for the traditional thick yokel accent with no fixed geographical location.
In Girum Imus Nocte et Consumimur Igni.

In what parts of London are these places?:

    Chelsea

Highbury (or the name of the neighborhood where Arsenal play)

    Fulham

    Charlton

    Tottenham

West, North (actually, it's Islington, really. But I'll forgive you), West, South-east (I think), North.

+1 Cool Points awarded purely for mentioning Blackadder.

Actually i'd say he was quite rural (mummerset ) but he has a way of speaking very clearly, good diction, which makes it harder to define.

Well I've met Tony Robinson, he lives not far away from me [/Showoff]

And he has a normal London accent in my opinion, Suburban London that is.

    Chelsea - SW10

Highbury is in Somerset... Islington is N7

    Fulham - SW15

    Charlton - E16

    Tottenham - N17

(Those being the postal districts... N = North, E = East etc...)
