    Revolt and Revolution! (MT Open)

(OOC: This was sparked by some of the events in this thread. I may create an OOC planning thread for this later, but I'll see how it goes unplanned. OOC Thread for this thread is here.)

The newspapers detailing the attempted assassination of Pope Rolland were torn from the hands of their shocked distributors. The crowd that had witnessed the beginning of the Pope’s speech had remained there in front of St. Peter’s Cathedral in prayer. However, the moment the news got out that the assassin had been sent by President Copeland, the faithful disciples turned into a homicidal mob. People took out their anger on cars and local businesses.

Anarchy reigned for a few chaotic minutes until some men with megaphones unified them into a terrifying force. Revolutionary speakers from Pythogria as well as mad citizens of Chitzeland called for the death of President Copeland. Once the crowd was set on its goal, it could not be stopped. As it swept through the city, the crowd gained additional members, until it was over four hundred thousand strong. They marched several miles until they reached the gates of the Copeland Gardens, the President’s estate. Guards had spotted them from a long distance away, and had set up positions from which to fire upon the mob.

A ten foot wall separated the screaming citizens from the grounds of the estate. The wall might as well have been ten millimeters in height. Once the crowd began to pour over the wall, automatic gunfire added to the chaos. The guards managed to kill hundreds, but the crowd was always attracting new members to replace the fallen. Soon, the President’s mansion was like an island in the middle of a tempest of revolutionaries. Windows were broken, doors busted down, halls and rooms searched, all of their occupants killed. Unfortunately, the crowd’s thirst would not be quenched today, for the President was no where to be found.

By this time, the whole of Providence was in uproar. All business and contracts to normal life were forgotten. Now was the time to fight and make sure that your country does not go to hell. Revolutionaries fought their loyalist neighbors in the massive riots that ignited on every street. Every where you turn, there was violence. A beheading, someone being run over by a car, a poor bystander being thrown out of the window of building.

The mobs lead by Irish Spec Ops or Wanderjarian Spetznaz that were storming the capital building encountered a similar fate as those searching at the President’s mansion. By the end of the day, some felt that they had killed everyone but the President.

The Providence Academy watched the countless murders from above on Mount Providence. An impending structure, the Providence Academy was a restored 13th century castle that was now the ultimate command center of the Chitzeland military. Anyone attempting to storm it would face a steep climb up hill, a swim through a moat over 50 feet wide and 30 feet deep, and a 70 foot crenellated wall. All of this would have to be done with soldiers firing from above. Many mobs tried, all failed.

The purpose of the Providence Academy was to train officers for the Army and Navy. Now, it was quickly reverted back to its Medieval use of fending off murderous invaders. In the depths of the castle, President Copeland sat with his top Generals, Admirals, and Field Marshals to discuss what must be done to restore order in the country.

“Lenny, we have to get you out of the capital,” suggested General Laguardia. “You cannot stay here much longer.”

    “I see that,” said Copeland.

“We will fly you out in an unmarked helicopter to an area where it is again safe to travel by car. We will then relocate you to the new capital, Automati. That city has a disproportionate level of dissent compared to other areas of the country. By the time you get there, we will have consolidated military power in the area and we can begin to restore order to the country.”

Admiral Amherst leaned forward suddenly and interjected: “How exactly do you suppose we restore order? The Copeland dynasty, which we have been working to build for the past sixty years, has been shattered beyond repair in the past week!”

The room erupted in frantic conversation as it all suddenly dawned upon them that regaining absolute power would be nearly impossible. Their regime was sinking, and they were going down with the ship.

“Gentlemen! Quiet! We will get through this,” said Copeland. “I have a plan. Most of the people in Chitzeland now are Christians. We will simply deal with this problem the same that our administration has always dealt with problems. We will use government propaganda.” President Copeland turned to General Laguardia. “I want you to immediately call the newspapers and tell them that President Copeland was killed when a mob swarmed his car. Not only will this lessen the fury of the crowds, it will also strengthen support of the loyalists. Then, when we once again gain enough influence over the country, I will be magically resurrected by God. I will be touted as a Christ-like figure. The guilt of the populace should be enough to convert back most of the Pope’s followers to be loyal again to me. We will never gain as great a hold on the nation as we had, but now we are strictly on damage control duties.”

“Well, I am not sure if that will work,” said one general.

“We must try! General Laguardia, go make the call. The rest of you help me prepare for my departure.”

And so the people were informed on the brutal death of President Copeland, who was supposedly dragged out of his car and burned alive in a dumpster. The President flew away in an unmarked helicopter while millions of his people died below.

"Sir, the bastard is spreading propaganda!"

"You know, I think I've had about enough of him. I want a few Terrabyte fighters to patrol the skies around the city. It's likely he's flying out. If you see any suspicious helicopters, shoot."

Terrabyte fighters raced at supercruise speed towards Chitzeland, and patrolled the skies around the city.

    From: Emperor Christoph

What course of action do you propose taking? His headlines claim him dead, but my GRU operators say they're propogandist lies. What is your suggestion? I'm open to anything.

President Copeland's helicopter landed at an electrical plant over fifty miles outside Providence just minutes before the Pythogrian figthers reached Chitzeland. The car that had been arranged for him waited humbly in a gravel road. The driver, a soldier under the command of General Stein, got out of the car and greeted him. “I’ve found an inconspicuous house outside Automati for you to live in temporarily until the riots have calmed down. No one will know that you are still alive,” said the soldier.

“Thank you,” said the President. He got in the car and they drove off.

The drive did not take very long. The roads were almost empty. A sign on the side of the road read “Automati: 15 miles”. Not long after seeing the sign, the car pulled off of the main highway and went down a windy dirt road towards an innocent looking house. Once parked in front of the house, the driver got out, made sure the area was clear, and then opened the door for the President.

Three soldiers came out of the house with rifles on their soldiers.

“Thank you, my boys, you will be honored as heroes when all the hype dies down!” exclaimed the President.

“We sure will be,” said one of the soldiers. They pointed their guns at the President. “Leonard Copeland, you are under arrest in the name of the People’s Democratic Republic of Chitzeland.”

President Copeland let out a deep laugh. “That’s a good one!”

One of the soldiers hit him with his rifle, knocking him to the ground. “Get against the car!”

Leonard Copeland suddenly realized that they were not kidding. He got against the car, and was searched. The pistol he always kept with him was confiscated, and the sobbing man was lead into a hastily constructed prison cell in the house.

“I trust that everything went according to plan, General Stein?” asked General Laguardia over the phone.

“Yes,” said General Stein. “I have just received word from my men. They say that Copeland is already trying to plan how he will regain control of the country.”

“Excellent. With any hope, this will all cool down and will end shortly.”

General Laguardia hung up. He was then told that radar had picked up unidentified fighters coming towards Chitzeland.

“Shoot them out of the sky,” Laguardia said. "In times like this, we must shoot first and ask questions later."

All across Chitzeland, thousands of ground to air missiles were fired at the incoming Terrabyte fighters.

[[OOC: What is the ideology of this President Coopeland? Also, what goal are the revolutionaries fighting for? Are they only fighting because they wish to avenge the death of the pope? As soon as I know the answers to these questions, I'll be jumping into this RP.]]
