The Republic of United Nations

Background:

Formed from the ashes that were the Iberian Netherlands, the nations of the formal kindgom along with a few new nations gather together to form the Republic of United Nations or RUN. Unlike, the previous UN- the new Republic had the economic and military will to ensure that it's voice would be heard in the world. Furthermore, it would use this voice to project a sense of order and peace to the world. It also, had the political will to see things to the end. A new road lay ahead, whether this road would be bumpy or smooth would be determine by not only the Republic but, by the rest of the known world.

Though, the withdraw of the nation of Equatorial Guinea from the RUN has brought question to how the RUN pursues it's policies. The Republic has remained committed to it's goal of helping to bring Peace and Security to all nations on Earth.

The Kingdom of Iberia as of today, have completed the final withdraw of it's troops from both South America and the nations of Equatorial Guinea and Gabon. Though the troops are home, the Kingdom will continue to work with the nations of South America and the Philippines to bring a better world to South America. The Kingdom has also signed a defensive alliance with the nation of Gabon to repay for the damage done by the Kingdom for it's unprovoked attack. Something, the Kingdom is deeply sorry for and has apologized to the nation of Gabon and the international world for. The Terms of the alliance with Gabon are as follows:

1. Should any nation or group attack the free nation of Gabon, The Kingdom of Iberia would send aid by whatever means possible and would dispatch whatever aid was available. Any and All types of aid such as money, food, weapons and personnel were cover.
2. The nation of Gabon is not required and will not come to the aid of the Kingdom in any form if it is attacked by any nation or group. The nation of Gabon will declare it's neutrality in such an event.
3. Both Gabon and the Kingdom may use each others base(s) for a stop over but, may not establish a permanent force at said base(s), unless otherwise agreed upon by both parties.
4. The Kingdom shall pay 50 million Euros a year for 5 years to the Gabonese Republic, starting the year this alliance is signed.
5. This agreement may be canceled at any time by Gabon or modified by either party if in agreement.

The construction of Naval Bases in the Azores on Terceira Island and Sao Miguel Island have been completed. The expansion of Lajes Air Force Base has also been completed. A small Naval Base has also been constructed on Madeira Island and a small Air Force Base on Porto Santo Island.

In the Canary Islands, a Naval Base has been built on Tenerife and Gran Canaria Islands. The existing Air Bases in the Canaries have been expanded including the adding of longer runways to handle fighters and other large jet aircraft.

Two new naval bases have been built in the Caribbean. One is in Barbados and the other is in Martinique. An Air Force Base has also been constructed in Martinique.

In the Netherlands Antilles, the Civilian Airfield Joao Paulo II has been converted into a Air Force Base and it's facilities expanded including a longer runway.
