I don’t want to post a list of 100s of little niggles n bugs that may or may not exploit things just things in general. I also don’t wont to implement something that will be unpopular so do contact me if you have any problems with what’s here


Jolt TFC Public Rules & Help

Please note the following rules and guidelines for playing on the Jolt Public servers. If you have any questions please contact an admin from #tfc.jolt


Server Don’ts

1) Do not use offensive language and player names on the servers.
2) Sexual/racist remarks/names are not tolerated and you will be removed from the servers for doing so.
3) Anyone caught cheating will be banned - This includes any kind of weapon hacks, speed cheats, spec cheats, bots or wall hacks.
4) Door blocking is lame and spoils the fun of others, users will be removed and banned for doing so deliberately.
5) Try not spam respawns or respawn exits, Whilst the odd nade here and there are acceptable laying up camp outside the nme spawn and stopping anyone getting out is not tolerated, if you are asked to stop by and admin please then do.
6) Try not to spam choke points on maps, like the bridge on 2fort for example! Choke points are used by both teams so not only do you stop the flow of the map but affect your own teammates as well. We are not asking you to stop killing someone attacking you in a said area, just not to repeatedly spam 1 particular point in an area where you will cause both sides to not access bases .
7) Deliberate Armor stripping is very lame and weakens your team. If you are caught doing this deliberately for the sole purpose of disrupting your teammates you will be warned to stop and failure to do so removed.
8) Do not accuse other players of cheating without any kind of proof or evidence, if you think someone is cheating get an admin or record a demo. We take all cheat allegations seriously but will not follow any up without proof. This applies to all rules being broken when reported.
9) Don’t use pornographic pictures, racist or offensive decals.
10) Deliberate team infecting is not tolerated.
11) Don’t camp/hide with flags
12) Don’t exploit the nail-gren bug to spam the spawn, or emp spawn points.
13) When asked to stop doing something by an admin please do, they are not here to argue or spoil your fun in anyway but to make sure the servers and players are not abused!
14) If you dot like the server then don’t play on it! We are not forcing you to stay, keep your comments to yourself or do something useful like report it to an admin who might be able to help.



Demos

If you record a demo to report a cheater or someone abusing our rules please include a STATUS from the console so we can see the WONID. We cannot act on anyone without this information.

To record a demo during play, bring down the console and type record xxx.dem (xxx being name) and when you are finished type stop.


Admins

Can be found in #tfc.jolt and they will either be voiced (+) or opped (@). If no one is there or replying be patient, we have life’s outside TFC! If all else fails, record a demo and post a link to it in the TFC forums, please zip or rar up the demo and try to keep it under 3mb zipped.

Admins should always warn you if you are breaking any of our rules before you are removed, unless you are obviously cheating, being extremely offensive or harassing them. Other things like deliberate door blocking and team shooting if seen by an admin you will risk being removed from the server.

If you are banned from the server and do not know why, either post your WONID on the forum with a date and time roughly of when you was last on or come see us in #tfc.jolt.
In some minor cases we may revoke the ban, but if you ignored warnings that you were breaking rules or caught doing it on other occasions you risk your ban being permanent


Voting

Map voting is enabled on All non single map servers, simply type rockthevote in the Say command to start a vote or Admin_vote_map mapname to vote a specific map.

Nextmap and Timeleft are enabled on all servers, Use them but don’t flood the server with repeated requests.


Player restrictions

Snipers, HWguys and Demo's are restricted on some of the servers to reduce spam and prevent misuse, on an 18man server you don’t expect 10 of them to be snipers!
If you have any queries regarding these post in the forums we always listen and go with the majority.

The limits are there for a reason and from experience of playing on the servers.


Forums

The forums are a public place where admins, regular players and not so regulars come to gossip, share info and just banter! We believe in freedom of speech but don’t get abusive!
We can and will remove or edit posts we think are not acceptable and in extreme cases remove the user from the forums.

If an Admin chooses to close a thread or edit your post, ask in private or IRC why instead of starting another thread.

Server rules apply here as well but also note that hijacking of threads whereas you just add comments to disrupt or cause offence in a different thread will not be tolerated.

Admins will either warn you in the thread, delete/edit it or warn you in private depending on how severe/constant it is.


Server changes and improvements

We always listen to suggestions of improvements to the servers, everyone has what they think is an ideal server - opinions and tastes vary, if you don’t like someone’s opinion that’s fine but try to not be offensive about it!

We are limited by the number of servers we have and in an ideal world would have 10+ servers and cater for everyone, we don’t so we have to use what we got as best we can! If we think something is a good idea we will try it!

Please if a lot of you suggest something, try using it! it takes time setting up and making changes to the servers, when people don’t then use it, it takes the biscuit!

if i read that on the server i wouldn't have time to play teehee

On the [KuH]servers if u armour strip a message comes on screen saying u have broken the rules and will be punished,and then u cant move for a while,I dunt know how DRoss did it tho,but its well cool

These are the general server rules, and information on contacting admins, using the forums etc and not meant just purly for the servers.

They will find a home on the website in all due to but for the time being this sticky is here for reference and so that we all have a set of solid rules and guides for us all to follow.

That way if anyone has any problem with your actions on the server you can point them at this thread.

OK, we can all take the rules, as written in stone, but I'm sure we all know what is meant by them...

What people have to try and remember, is that the jolt publics are here for FUN, above all else, for FUN, and that is the Admins job, to ensure that the servers are used in the spirit they are intended.

They are NOT meant to be league rules...the point about spamming chokes is TRY!! There will always be lamers who will repeatedly do this, but you can't spam all the chokes, all the time, use an alternate route and splat him!
