Just to clear up a question that I know will pop up in a hundred different posts in the next ten minutes, where would you download all the necessary IRC programs to use the channels?

Well, there are three programs I can think of off the bat:

www.mirc.com for mIRC... with www.mirc.org as a resource for figuring out all the commands....


http://www.trillian.cc/ for Trillian, which provides a freebie version as well as a paid one....

and http://www.xchat.org/ for XChat -- another freebie program.

And just a quick note... *Waves to Katg* That the IRC server where those rooms are is irc.esper.net

If you use the Mozilla browser, I recommend ChatZilla.

BTW, IRC can be intimidating at first with all the commands and what not. But give it a try, its not that tough to master if you don't let yourself get bewildered

A good beginner's intro to IRC can be found at http://www.irchelp.org/irchelp/new2irc.html. For a thorough guide, try http://www.irchelp.org/irchelp/ircprimer.html. Note that those guides don't address IRC services (as they were written in the old EFnet days). For services help, type "/nickserv help" and "/chanserv help".

Well, I'm downloading it, and the guy says its freeware, so I mean try this IRC chat thingie out...I Dunno, just can't find things in IRC that are freeware anymore, especially the links provided earlier..

It might be in french, so click the british flag for english. Look under utilities, and look at the Orion link.

Thats all I know kitties.....if someone gots some freeware IRC Chat Client thingie thats easier, that would help greatly.

BTW, just starting back on IRC after so many LLLOOONNNGGG years of what short time I knew of it...
