SHIELD: The Avenger Initiative (Sign-Up/Discussion)

OOC: This is kind of a sequel to my last SHIELD thread I did, which was going quite well but sadly died (sad face). Anyways, I want to try it again. As in the last thread, the SHIELD in this thread is a UN sanctioned organization bent of global stability and fighting threats to mankind that only SHIELD can handle.

The basic concept for this one is that after the events of the first one, the Metahuman Registration Act is under attack from numerous groups, metahuman and non metahuman. SHIELD's primary mission as of now is to catch or neutralize hostile metahumans who use their powers for evil. This was is escalating and SHIELD's new director who replaced the deceased Tony Stark has decided to reboot the Avenger Initiative. Now, they set about creating a team of metahumans. Meanwhile, a new, more poweful threat emerges that will threaten the very existance of Earth.

You can be pretty much anything in this thread. If you are a regular agent of SHIELD. You cannot have super powers, but you can have heightened skills and strength. If you choose to be a metahuman, don't be ridiculously powerful and such, and no godmodding.

Brief Bio: Felicia Hunter is born from royalty in Britain. Her father was a member of the House of Lords and mother a respected lawyer. Throughout her youth she craved adventure and would often runoff without her parents knowledge. This sense of adventure combined with her love of art and antiques, eventually led her to as an art thief. After graduating college and studying abroad, she became a respected art dealer who moonlighted as a thief. she is very skilled in agility, hacking, and stealth. Her highlight was managing to steal the Mona Lisa just for fun. This caught the eye of S.H.I.E.L.D. who happened on her tyrail by accident. Instead of turning her into the authorities, they saw a great use in her abilities and enlisted her into their ranks. She is now a full member.

Bio: Descendant of one of the original test subjects of Lot Six -Vicky Tomlinson - her ova removed posthumously & semen donated by John Rainbird, fertilized in vitro and carried by a host female. Raised by The Shop until she was six at which time John Rainbird went rogue, abducted her and took her into hiding.

However the Agency believed they allowed him to do this, as in their tests her genetics showed no sign of any alterations. However The Shop didn't know that John Rainbird, one of their most trusted senior agents had swapped the samples and fudged the test results.

John Rainbird raised her at various safe houses around the world, spending what time he could with her, while making a living as a very high paid independent operative. D’Arcy grew up with a succession of tutors and housekeepers -living a 'well and well educated', but rather nomadic life. John Rainbird started training her to be a field craft / operations from the time she was a child

Her abilities manifested at puberty and they are fully the equal to those of the more infamous Charlene 'Charli' Firewalker. When she was sixteen John Rainbird was nearly killed escorting a political refugee out of Myanmar. D’Arcy finished the run for him, posing as the client’s daughter. Since that time he finished her basic training and she began aiding him in his work. He also introduced her to people he knew in S.H.I.E.L.D at that time. However he was killed six years later. Since then she has done some freelance work, but has mostly worked as a S.H.I.E.L.D 'Contractor'

Speaks eight languages reasonably, and can get by in about six more, and is an accomplished world traveler, gaining a reputation and a goode living as as a freelance destination/ travel writer - a number of magazines have carried articles by her. IT makes a fine cover for her true avocation.

Brief Bio: Part of a Ralkovian paranormal military experiment as a child his genetics were spliced with echtoplasm and his dna combined with that of a 'ghost.' He broke out of the experiment facility killing everyone and everything in his way. As a teen he watched over a single human girl who he had fallen in love with. After her death from a government attempt to capture him he has sworn to make humanity fall. Using the UN's proclamation to gather allies he is now devoted to the destruction of world leader's and to fight the SHIELD.

Brief Bio: James was the result of a experiment performed by a unknown laboratory, in which human DNA was combined with that of a so-called 'demon'. James was then raised by one of the scientists to the age of 15, when he ran away when he found out his origin. He was found by a man wandering the countryside, half dead. The man was a respected martial artist and a swordmaster, who taught James who to use most types of swords. Now aged 25, James set out to find the men who made him what he was, with his sword, Chaos Blade, in hand. SHIELD stubbled across him when he broke into one of their secure facilities following up a lead. he has been detained by them since.

However, Stark's latest armors were bonded to his skeleton (Extremis), and as such, Amantia had to downgrade, so to speak. Using one of Iron Man's older armors (but avoiding a facsimile moniker, to avoid insulting Shellhead's memory), Amantia now fights for SHIELD as their supreme armored soldier -- the Iron Soldier.
